Philippines visa - How to apply

Requirements for the Philippines eVisa include the necessary documents that must be prepared and submitted during the application process, as well as other requirements that should be met to ensure the successful outcome of the eVisa.

As the Philippines introduced the eVisa system only as a pilot scheme, these requirements are not yet precisely specified and are subject to change in the future.

Nevertheless, it is expected that the Philippines eVisa requirements will be similar to other eVisa systems introduced around the world. Namely, every eligible applicant should possess a passport with a validity of 6 months extending beyond the planned date of departure from the Philippines.

The online application for the Philippines eVisa also requires submitting the signed form and providing the original version of the documents. Applicants can either send documents via courier or visit the Philippines embassy or consulate and submit all required documentation in person.

Additionally, applicants eligible for the Philippines online visa application should ensure they can access a working electronic device, a stable internet connection, valid means of online payment as well as an active email address.

After covering the processing fee and submitting all necessary documents, the Philippines government will issue an eVisa, which will next be sent to the applicant via email.

Required documents

Among the necessary documents that must be submitted to apply for the Philippines visa online are:

  • a machine-readable passport/ e-Passport with a validity of at least 6 months from the date of planned departure from the Philippines
  • applicant’s face photograph

Important notes:

  • Depending on the traveler’s nationality, the list of necessary documents may differ.
  • The Philippines eVisa is in the testing phase, and its requirements may change at any time.
  • So far, an applicant has to submit original and signed documents (either via courier or in person).
  • It may be necessary to have a visa interview if the visa officer has some doubts regarding your visa application.

Other requirements

In order to apply for a visa to the Philippines online, make sure to have access to the following:

  • working electronic device - to submit your online application
  • stable Internet connection - to avoid the need to repeat the process due to some technical issues
  • valid means of online payment - to cover the visa processing fees
  • active email address - to receive the visa decision together with the approved visa copy

Once you receive your visa approval, you should remember to print it out and take its physical copy with you to enter the Philippines.
